The foundation history of the University of Portsmouth dates back to Victoria Era, and since then, the university has emerged as a leader promoting ground-breaking research and education for change. The university's contribution to research in physics and Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing, and Pharmacy has been rated as internationally exceptional and world-leading. The University of Portsmouth is one among the four universities from South-East rated gold in the Government Teaching Excellence Framework.
