University of North Texas (UNT) is named among the Tier One research university by Carnegie Classification. A community of doers and dreamers, UNT nurtures the leaders and creators of tomorrow through its nationally recognized programs. The university offers 105 bachelor's, 88 master's, and 37 doctoral degree programs, out of which some are first of their kind, while some are ranked among the Top 100 in the US. There are multiple campuses located in Denton, Frisco, McKinney, and Downtown Dallas, with numerous courses running fully online. The official primary colors of NTU are green and white, with the American Eagle as its mascot. The official song of the university is called "the fight song" and was composed by the renowned composer Francis Edwin Stroup, who was also an alumnus of the university. The intercollegiate athletic teams are nicknamed 'mean-green.' There are 15 teams: men's football team, men and women basketball team, golf, cross-country, track and field, Soccer, Softball, Diving, Swimming, Tennis, and Volleyball.
