The Maroon Global Excellence Scholarships are granted based on academic legitimacy—students chosen for grants are among the best in their secondary school class and show a record of excellent academic preparation. Maroon Global Excellence Scholarships for the academic year, were $3,125 every year for as long as four years. Beneficiaries are chosen from the pool of undergrad candidates to the University of Minnesota every year; no different grant application required. The application cutoff time for Fall admission and scholarship is 16th December.

The award is granted over four years of a Bachelor's degree, up to a sum of $12,500, equivalent to around $3,125 every year.
