For the consideration of this scholarship, students must be accepted to the Hood College.

Every year, Hood College grants more than $6 million in merit-based scholarships, including scholarships for first-year students entering from high school and students moving from different colleges. Students admitted to Hood are consequently considered for merit scholarships, most of which are renewable for as long as four years (albeit some require a base G.P.A. for their renewal). Overall academic performance, specific academic accomplishments, leadership, and participation in school and community activities are significant elements in awarding scholarships to both first-year and transfer students.
