The Empowerment Hub is something really close to my heart. I started it because I saw so many people around me—kids, adults, even parents—who had never even touched a computer. In today’s world, that just didn’t feel right. So with a few friends, I decided to do something about it.
Every evening, we meet for an hour in a small room with a few laptops—some donated, some bought with money we earned by making websites for local shops. We teach basic stuff at first, like how to use a mouse, type, search on Google, or write something in Word. Slowly, when people get comfortable, we move on to things like Excel, PowerPoint, even basic coding and graphic design.
We don’t follow a strict plan—we just go at everyone’s pace, answer questions, and try to make it fun. It’s amazing to see someone who was scared to touch a keyboard now confidently sending emails or creating something on Canva. We laugh a lot, celebrate small wins, and keep encouraging everyone. Every day, someone surprises themselves with what they can achieve.
Why do we do this? Because we’ve seen how learning these skills changes lives. Some of our students have landed jobs, others started earning online, and most importantly, they believe in themselves now. That’s the best part. It’s not just about computers—it’s about giving people a chance they never had before. Watching someone go from “I can’t” to “I did it!” is what keeps us going every single day. Seeing their pride when they succeed is priceless, and it reminds me why I do what I do. Every little victory counts, and it all adds up to something big.
