I did my project on "DNA profiling in the crime
investigation " from the forensic science laboratory (government of Telangana police department),
where I have contributed in the crime investigation ( murder cases, rape cases, Disputed paternity cases
etc. ) in the forensic science laboratory, where I extracted DNA from the samples like blood, semen
whichfound at the crime spot on clothes or on the weapons then extracted the DNA from the samples
and matched it with the suspects to determine the accused, for instance in a Disputed paternity case a
manwas reported that the new born child of his wife is not his baby and filed a case on his wife then
blood samples were collected from the man, his wife and the baby then several procedures were used
to determine the father of the child later it was concluded that the man's claim came out to be true and
the suspected man who was having affair with the woman was caught after conducting DNA analysis, in
another case a woman claimed that her neighbor raped her and reported the police semen and blood
stains were found in the crime spot and were collected then DNA determining tests were done and
tests confirmed that he attempted rape on her and faced legal consequences likewise murder cases are
also solved with the help of DNA analysis, during my project days I have learnt several other procedures
like polymerase chain reaction (PCR ), str ( string methods ) etc. and I have used several machines like
centrifuge and incubator, thoroughly enjoyed my project days as I got to know various procedures
regarding biotechnology and got a chance to know the forensic expert's stories and the experiences,
most importantly how biotechnological procedures evolved throughout the years
