The project was carried out in the second year of my M.Pharm. and a thesis for the same was submitted to the University of Mumbai in May 2022. It was focused on evaluating the effect of Aniracetam, a GABA agonist in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) using a rat model. In this project I induced OCD in male Wistar rats using a behavioral animal model known as schedule-induced polydipsia. During the project tenure, I developed skillsets like protocol design and standardization, literature review, animal handling, dosing, data collection, data representation & interpretation using software like GraphPad Prism. All these techniques developed my critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
