The paper is basically an image processing and image identification combination using Matlab.-Classifying images in ever-increasing and large image datasets has become an exigent task for computer
vision and pattern recognition applications. In this article, a statistical method that considers the spatial relationship of
pixels i.e., the grey-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM), also known as the grey-level spatial dependence matrix is used to
identify texture features. PCA is applied to reduce the dimensionality of data and build a train feature matrix. Five
different distance measure techniques are used for classification purposes. The proposed method is demonstrated on a very
large yet challenging Caltech-101 dataset and observed the impact of GLCM texture features in terms of improved
classification accuracy compared with some of the popular techniques found in the literature.
