The Illinois Institute of Technology was founded in 1893 under the name Armour University. Chicago minister Frank Wakely Gunsaulus moved the call to establish a school where a student of any background can receive an education against the culture that only allowed the elite to access higher education. The institute offers various undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs and brags 22d rank in Finance and 32nd rank in legal studies across the entire United States. According to the most recent PayScale rankings, Illinois Tech was placed at #1 in Illinois among best value colleges. The Illinois Institute of Technology comprises four campus locations: the Mies (Main) Campus, Conviser Law Center, Daniel F., Ada L. Rice Campus, and Moffett Campus. These campuses are house to several remarkably notable buildings like the historical R. Crown Hall, State Street Village residence hall, McCormick Tribune Campus Center, and Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship.
