Clemson University was established in 1889 and borrowed its name from the founder Thomas Green Clemson. Clemon was initially instituted as a military school and thus held great pride in its military heritage. A significant ratio of Clemson's alumni have served and sacrifice their lives in the name of the nation. Additionally, Clemson's has ten military associations like Ranger Club, Air Force ROTC, Army ROTC, and Arnold Air Society for students, involved vigorously in leading the future of the nation to safe hands. The students at Clemson's University call themselves "tigers" and are bound by a diverse but exciting array of traditions, like wearing solid orange every Friday (no matter what's your designation, faculty, student, or worker, because before everything you are a tiger.) Once you become a part of the tiger community, it is nearly impossible to dodge long-lived traditions like $2 bills, running down the hill, and Howard's rock and these are equivalent to a pin in a heap. There's no turning back once you are into it because once a tiger, always a tiger!
