The insane amount of universities dropping standardized test requirements has escalated to the point that the Wall Street Journal calls college admissions 'crazier than ever.'

There are universities that are WAIVING BOTH TOEFL AND GRE REQUIREMENTS!!!!

As a result of the test-optional policy adopted by Babson, standardized test scores will be optional for all full-time graduate applicants with a 2022 program entry.
TOEFL iBT, IELTS, PTE or Duolingo test scores and official English translations of all required academic documents must be submitted if:
- Your native language is not English.
- You have NOT earned a bachelor’s or master’s from an institution in the United States, U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or India.

The GRE scores are waived by the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The following porgrams do not require the GRE requirement -
- CSEN-MS program
- MS in Network Engineering
- MS in Technology, Cybersecurity & Policy
Furthermore, Spring 2022 applicants are not required to submit GRE test scores to the Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering.
Although Canadian Universities don't covet for GRE scores, they do look for evidence of your english proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL scores.
UNB presents itself as a deviation from this trend by waiving the english proficiency score requirement.
The university is also recognized as the first in Canada to start engineering programs and being the home to the country's first faculty of Computer Science.
In lieu of TOEFL/IELTS scores, applicants who studied english for atleast 3 years in secondary/high school can showcase one of the following:
- GCE A Level English Literature with minimum grade of C
- Norway English 3rd Year Upper Secondary with minimum grade of 4
- Sweden English 3rd Year Upper Secondary with minimum grade of VG
- Denmark English 3rd Year Upper Secondary with minimum grade of 10
- India CBSE & CISCE year 12 English with minimum grade of 75%

On their Economics MS Admissions and Applications page, UC Santa Cruz states the following:
"You need the GRE or GMAT (optional for 2022-23 due to pandemic), unofficial transcripts, 3 letters of recommendation and TOEFL (optional for 2022-23 due to pandemic) if you are international."
The important bit here is that not only is the GRE/GMAT test waived, but also the English Language test has been waived for international students for the Fall 2022 application term.

Many departments at UT Austin appear to be waiving off the GRE. For instance, here's the link to the CS department waiving off the GRE.
At the same time, on their graduate admissions page, UT Austin mentions that the TOEFL/IELTS is waived for all international applicants who are from a qualifying country.
